EA Review

NaiKun is in the process of completing a full and thorough environmental assessment review as required by the Haida Nation and the Provincial and Federal governments. The project is subject to both federal and provincial review under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA) and the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Act (BCEAA) as well as a complete evaluation by the Haida Nation.

Studies are being conducted at the project site and along the transmission cable route to Port Edward to evaluate any potential impacts the wind farm construction or operation may have on:

NaiKun has retained the services of BC consulting firm Hemmera to lead the Environmental Assessment Review and coordinate the submission of an Application for an Environmental Assessment Certificate. Vancouver based environmental consulting firm, Pottinger Gaherty will continue to provide support for the Environmental Assessment Review and focus on the biophysical aspects of the Application.
